On 18 June in Bologna International Conference on Innovation in flood risk management

Comparison between experts and administrators on good governance, participation and communication practices

“Innovation in flood risk management: Good practices of governance, participation and communication” is the title of the conference to be held on June 18th in Bologna, at the B, C and D halls of the third tower, in Viale della Fiera 8. The event is organized by the Emilia-Romagna region as part of the Life Primes Project, Action F. 2 Networking.

Bologna, 5 June 2018. The conference is an important moment of confrontation and synergy between different European life and non-life projects, civil protection systems at regional and national level, universities and European bodies on the issue of innovation in risk management of Floods.
The conference takes place within the week of civil protection, a regional event dedicated to the tools, experiences and activities of real time that can make our territory safer and with a better level of quality of living, even Through the full involvement of local communities and authorities.

The initiative to which national and international experts are invited to participate includes two sessions: a first plenary meeting in the morning in which representatives of the National Department of Civil Protection will be involved, the authority Of the Po River District and exponents of various bodies and bodies, on risk management within the framework of the Directive 2007/60/EC; and two separate afternoon sessions organized as real work tables and participatory discussion:
Session 1 – Information tools to support risk management: How to system the experiences of different projects
Session 2 – Handbook for the homogenisation of forecasting and alerting systems: Common Criteria and good practices for flood risk management.
In particular, session 2 is dedicated to the presentation of one of the central activities of the Primes project, action C. 1 “homogeneisation and integration of monitoring and warning systems” at the end of which will be prepared the “Handbook for The homogenisation and implementation of prevention and alerting systems “, containing three specific protocols relating to data collection modalities and risk assessment, alerting and information and communication procedures.

The meeting is aimed at the national Department of Civil Protection, regional civil defence regions and protections, functional centres, universities and research centres, as well as European bodies active on the central issues dealt with.
